Training Program on the Management of Participative
Development Project Was Delivered in Beijing

    As the first-phase training classes of the project on Chinese NPOs' training and capacity building developed by China NPO Network, a training program on the management of participative development project started in Beijing on August 19th as scheduled. Totally 20 participants from foundations, non-profits organizations and related international organizations attended the classes. The 5-day training program was delivered by Professor Li Xiaoyun and Doctor Wang Libin, with teaching materials specially compiled by them for this program. The notion of participative development has become the most commonly used concept and basic principle in today's international development, being widely applied to the project management in various social fields. This training program aimed at making the trainees know more about the basic theories of participative development, as well as the management skills for choosing, planning, implementing, supervising and appraising participative development projects.
It is the principal task for China NPO Netwok to promote the capacity building of NPOs in China. Its objective is to closely combine the needs of Chinese NPOs with related foreign resources and experiences, so as to set up a Chinese NPOs-oriented training system and develop omnibearing training programs. The training programs designed for this year (2002) includes: training on NPO's public management, management of participative development projects, advanced study and training class for CEOs, volunteers training, NPO development projects etc.
