The First Training Program on NPO Public Management Started in Beijing

    On October 26-29, 2002, the first-phase training course on NPO Public Management was delivered at the International Education Exchange Center of Beijing University of Science and Engineering as scheduled. Dr. Hou Gonglin gave lectures on Team Management Skills and Communication Skills for organization. More than 10 NPOs participated in this course including Friends of Nature, the Ford Foundation青春热线、敦煌石窟保护研究基金会、法学会反家暴项目组、丰台利智培训服务中心、西安市基督教女青年会, 东方华禹文化交流中心.
The training program is an important part of the China NPO Training and Capacity Building Project, which aims at improving Chinese NPOs' management skills via training their staff members. The main contents of this program covering Team Management Skills, Planning and Time Management, Communication Skills for Organizations, Conflict-solving, Pressure-handing skills, Assessment of achievement, Delegated Skills, Staff-inspiring, Speaking and Orating Skills, etc. The training program will be run three times in 2003 with 6 subjects.
Viewing from the assessment results and feedback we got from the trainees, the delivered program has been well received by the trainees. This has laid a good basis for the training on NPO public management in the coming year.
