China NPO Network Will Launch Training and Capacity Building Program (March, 2003-March, 2004)

In 2002£¬China NPO Network achieved preliminary results in NPO training and capacity building. By our calculation, totally 81 people received training in 2002 and 6 NPOs took part in the NPO self-assessment program. 9 domestic and foreign experts have compiled training materials of about 180, 000 words and given lectures for 178 class hours. As part of the program, China NPO Network has published 4 issues of Training.

In 2002, in order to further explore the training requirements that are suitable for China NPO development, to improve the quality of the training program, to concentrate related resources and to enlarge cooperation with regard to this aspect, China NPO Network collected feedback about the training program in many ways. Meanwhile, it interviewed more than 20 NPOs in Shanghai, Naijing, Tianjin and Ningxia and established and normalized information system for trainees and experts, which has laid basis for further developing NPO training and capacity building program.

This year, China NPO Network will try to expand the scope and regions the training and capacity building program cover and strengthen multiple cooperation so as to promote the course of the specialized training and capacity building program. We are looking forward to more supports and participation as well as suggestion from Chinese NPOs.
